Weekend plans

Hello, how's your weekend so far?
I realised I needed to get quite a few things done this weekend and as I had a craft fair yesterday I decided I would book tomorrow off work thinking I'd have two full days to get everything (as if) done.  Oh how things rarely turn out as planned.
I've not been feeling 100% this week, with a lingering cough among other things and then yesterday my annual cold arrived with force.  So after struggling to keep going throughout the day I returned home and soon went to bed.  This morning I didn't feel much better so have spent the day on the sofa updating my website.
So although the to-do list isn't any shorter, at least the website is looking a little smarter with a new look online shop. Lets hope tomorrow I feel well enough to tackle the to-do list.

Buzzzzzz

I really have been a busy little bee this week drawing bumble bees and designing and printing cards. They're now all ready to take with me to Warkton Village Craft Market this Saturday.  It's the sweetest little craft fair run by the lovely Michelle of 'Button it' and Deanne of 'Quirky Boots' and there are always the most delicious cakes for sale and drinks in their vintage tea room.  What more could you want for a Saturday in May?

Updates

Sorry, sorry, sorry.  I seem to always start my posts with an apology.
Things have been busy and I still have my trusty, more like annoyingly slow, computer to try and deal with when it comes to my on line presence.  I know, I should use my phone to post but in all honesty, I'm just a bit rubbish at remembering.  If you really do miss me then you can always follow Bee Designs on Facebook, I'm not too bad at posting things on there :)
This weekend I have been busy updating the website, including a new look gallery and lots of goodies in the on line shop, all the items above are available to buy now with free shipping on all cards.
I'm off now to make my big sisters birthday card, or do you think I can get away with buying one?!!

Back again

Sorry......again.  I know, I keep disappearing from here but it doesn't mean I've forgotten about Bee Designs.  I tend to spend most of my time on Facebook so if you want to keep up to date with what i'm doing you can follow me here.
I have been busy since I was last on here, honest.  Making and photographing and here's a few things to prove it.

Times of change

Sorry for being so quiet around here over the last week or so, I've recently found out I need to move house due to my landlord needing to sell.  For those of you who know me, you'll know how much I love where I live and wont be surprised to hear I'm incredibly upset by this. On the positive side I will be looking to buy somewhere that will be substantially bigger than where I am currently, here I compromised on the space for the location.
One thing that I love here is how close I am to Wistow Rural Centre.  Three weeks ago Wistow Gallery opened there and if you love quality handcrafted goods then it's the place for you.  Soon you'll find Bee Designs products stocked there too.

If you can't wait till then, why not pop by Makers Mart at The Curve, Leicester this Saturday from 12 - 8pm.  Hope to see you then.

Japanese inspired

I've always had a love for Japanese art, design and style and these new pieces are inspired by just that.  The daisies are a design I produced some time ago but I've developed it into these pieces of art and added machine stitching and washi tape.

Kusudama love

A lovely but not very creative week so far.  After my mammoth clear out and day of organising on Tuesday I finally got round to making today, albeit only a Kusudama Ball so far.  I do love them but they take so long to make.
Time now to update the website and maybe even a drop of wine.
Almost forgot....my new phone is arriving tomorrow so i'm sure there will be lots more Instagram pictures on the way.

Mothers day ideas

Don't forget Mothers Day on Sunday 18th March.  These little notecards would make a lovely gift and are available to buy in packs of four here.

Paper love

Gosh weekends go so quick sometimes, this one in particular.  It's been busy and creative which has been wonderful and just what I've needed.
Yesterday was spent at Warkton Village Craft Fair and as always was a lovely day.  Meeting lots of new people and catching up with those I've met before.
Today I've had a visit from my parents, completed orders and made modular origami stars.  I LOVE modular origami.  It all started when I first saw a kusudama ball and I just had to learn how to make one, that was it, I was hooked.  My recent make is this origami star which is sitting on my shelf awaiting a home.  Today I've made another one from brown kraft paper with a white geometric pattern, no photos of that one though as it's been given to my Mum.
Have you had a good weekend?

A quick look

Here's a sneak preview of some new valentines cards I've been screenprinting today.  As always, they're currently spread all over the floor, so what do I do with them now until they're dry?

Lesley Bee Photography

Towards the end of 2011 I attended the Glitterarti craft fair at the Atkins Buildings in Hinckley. Here I met photographer, and possibly somewhere along the lines distant relative, Lesley Bee.
Lesley photographed each of the stalls and created collages with the beautiful pictures she took. I'm so pleased with how fantastic she has made my work look. Thank you Lesley!
If you want to see more of Lesley's work, go and have wander round her website here.

Happy New Year!

As it's the start of a new year I thought it would be the perfect time to run a competition. Forget sales shopping and grabbing a bargain how about wining something for absolutely nothing. Like the idea? Well, all you need to do is head over to Bee Designs facebook page and click on the 'like' button. Once we reach 100 likes a winner will be chosen at random and will win some Bee Designs goodies. Good luck and don't forget to tell your friends.

Christmas Decor

With the weather starting to really turn now I'm finally feeling like Christmas is approaching. Cold evenings sat wrapped up in front of the fire making cards and paper decorations, sadly my little tree wont have room to hang them so hopefully they'll be popular at the upcoming Christmas fairs.

Christmas is coming

Just a few of the new Christmas goodies have been added to the Wow Thank You shop, hopefully more to come soon.
Lots of craft fairs are coming up over the next month and a half so off we go again to build up the stock.

New shop

Have you heard of Wow Thank You? It's a UK based online 'department store' selling non-mass produced UK designed and made items and I have been accepted to start selling with them. I'll keep you posted of how things are going and when I begin listing items.

The Reason Why

One the reasons why i've not been blogging recently is that i've had quite a few commisions of varying sorts. One of these commisions was to design a CD cover for the new single 'The Reason Why' by a local band Refuge.
Refuge have been working alongside SISO and other mental health organisations, developing competions and charity events to raise awareness of mental health and as part of this are giving away free downloads of their new single. Click here to go to the website and to download the single. Tickets for the event on the 10th October are also available here.

Hello.....anyone there?

Hello, remember me?

Yet again i've left this poor little blog rather lonely so I thought i'd stop by and update you with what i've been up to.

Well as always i've been busy making for craft fairs and trying to come up with some new ideas; the images above are a few examples of some of these. I'm loving postage stamps at the minute and I started making some cards out of vintage stamps and they have developed into these picutres. What do you think to them?

I've also been completing a few commisions I had, these have been fun. One in particular had me painting, the kind of painting i've hardly done since graduating 11 (11! where has the time gone?) years ago.

So now it's that time of year when I, unfortunately, have to start thinking about the dreaded 'C' word. Shuttlewood Clarke Foundations craft fair in September is the one where I bring out the Christmas cards, it always seems far too early but people buy them so who am I to judge?

I'll try and keep you updated on what i'm up to but if i'm a bit rubbish, bear with me please and if you want to have a look at my 'new' image gallery then click here. Why not also follow me on facebook.
