I really have been a busy little bee this week drawing bumble bees and designing and printing cards. They're now all ready to take with me to Warkton Village Craft Market this Saturday.  It's the sweetest little craft fair run by the lovely Michelle of 'Button it' and Deanne of 'Quirky Boots' and there are always the most delicious cakes for sale and drinks in their vintage tea room.  What more could you want for a Saturday in May?

Giveaway time

Updates

Sorry, sorry, sorry.  I seem to always start my posts with an apology.
Things have been busy and I still have my trusty, more like annoyingly slow, computer to try and deal with when it comes to my on line presence.  I know, I should use my phone to post but in all honesty, I'm just a bit rubbish at remembering.  If you really do miss me then you can always follow Bee Designs on Facebook, I'm not too bad at posting things on there :)
This weekend I have been busy updating the website, including a new look gallery and lots of goodies in the on line shop, all the items above are available to buy now with free shipping on all cards.
I'm off now to make my big sisters birthday card, or do you think I can get away with buying one?!!

A quick look

Here's a sneak preview of some new valentines cards I've been screenprinting today.  As always, they're currently spread all over the floor, so what do I do with them now until they're dry?

Lots of craft fairs are coming up over the next month and a half so off we go again to build up the stock.

Plan of action

I've been a bit neglectful of Bee Designs recently and haven't spent enough time making. So I have put together a plan of action, well more of a to-do list actually, and over the next few months will be getting things up and trunning once again.
For the time being I thought i'd share with you a couple of collages of some of my work.

Cold or cats?

I have a bit of a dilema. I've spent the afternoon printing christmas cards and notcards for the shop and now i'm giving them time to dry properly (i'm so impatient sometimes).
So what's the dilema I hear you ask. Well i've printed so many they are spread out over nearly every surface in the room including, the floor and now I need to get more wood for the fire knowing that as I do the cats will run back into the house.

Do I risk getting the wood and end up with little paws over my prints or do I allow the fire to go out making me cold and grumpy?
I've just read this and realised how silly this sounds, so i'm off to get some wood closing the door behind me.....life's so simple sometimes!

Mum and Dad

It's Fathers day today so I had to come up with a new design for my Dad's card. I always test out any new ideas on family and friends before selling in the shop or at fairs.

The design I came up with I was quite happy with. I handcut from white card the letters to spell out "Dad" and covered in stripy paper. Great. However I found the leftover piece of card today that i'd cut the letters from and loved the negative shapes i'd been left with. So i've spent the day making "Mum" and "Dad" cards in a selection of colours, i'll get the listed in the shop at some point during the week.

Just to say...What do you think?

I've been playing around on my gocco again and have come up with this new design for some notecards.

The wording on the front is "Just to say..." and the inside is blank so you can say whatever you like!

I've just been playing around making mosaics on flickr, it's great and soooo easy.

GOCCO!!!!!!!!!!

At last! 2 months ago I treated myself to a Gocco printer and after many an hour spent thinking "which design shall I use first" I finally plucked up the courage to use it.
I decided on this little daisy design i've been drawing for the last few weeks and although I think it might look better in other colours, i'm quite pleased with the results. I have to say to anyone out there thinking of buying a Gocco, do it! I'm so excited about using mine(big smiles) i've just been back on etsy to buy yet more screens and bulbs, so be warned there'll soon be no stopping me!

Upcoming shows

If you are looking for a fun day out this coming Sunday and are in the Midlands area, then why not come along to the Market Bosworth Show. There's lots to do including horticultural, agricultural and equestrian events but theres also a craft tent and we will be there with some of Bee Designs goodies. When I say we I actually meen me and my "marketing executive" (otherwise known as my wonderful friend Anna)!
