Sunday Cycling

Yesterday the sun was shining again and although it was quite windy we decided to head over to Rutland Water and cycle the 25 miles round it.
Rutland Water is one of the largest man made reservoirs in Europe and was created by flooding a valley, including a small village, in order to supply the East Midlands with water back in the 1970's. It's now a place for sailing and water sports as well as cycling, walking and for nature lovers.
I didn't get chance to take many pictures but the top one shows the south-west shore of the water and part of the penninsular. The picture above shows the bluebells that are in bloom, looking like a blue carpet through the woods.
I hope you had a great weekend. What did you do?

Gorgeous - those bluebells are amazing! Coincidentally I've just posted a bluebell pic on my blog - not as lovely as yours though!

PS. Am working on your PIF gift!
